Package tracking feature has arrived with Gmail! This definitely sounds great. Wanting to buy a gift for yourself or someone else, you spend hours – perhaps days – searching for the gift. You find one or more gifts and place an order. Then, while you wait for the package you ordered to arrive, you repeat the same steps:
- Go to your inbox for the confirmation email,
- Finding the shipment tracking number,
- Clicking on the links to find out the delivery status of your package.
As the holiday season opens, it’s very likely that more order and shipment confirmations, tracking numbers, and even delay notifications will pile up in your inbox. That’s exactly why, by 2023, Gmail introduced a new feature to help you save time and track all your shipping packages: Package Tracking.
Thanks to Google’s Gmail, there’s now a new feature that lets you track the delivery status of your packages right from your inbox. With this package tracking feature,
- keeping your e-mail inbox open,
- find the shipment confirmation email,
- copy and paste your tracking number into the relevant shipping company’s online tracking system
It saves you many steps.
All you have to do is open your Gmail inbox or app on your phone. You will see your package status in the front and middle section.
Gmail Package Tracker is much easier than keeping a bunch of tabs open and a constant page refresh to see if there is any improvement in your package delivery.
What is Gmail Package Tracking?
Recently, Gmail has been equipped with package tracking and delivery information features that are integrated directly into the inbox. This new feature brought by Gmail presents package tracking and delivery information in a very simple and useful view.
For an order with a tracking number, Gmail allows you to view your current delivery status in the inbox list. Thanks to the feature integrated into the inbox, your packages and delivery information can be displayed as a summary at the top of individual emails.
Gmail package tracking has become available to many major US shipping companies. It will now allow you to easily access the estimated packaging and delivery date information about your packages in your inbox, such as “Your package has been created“, “Your package has been shipped“, “Your package will be delivered today“.
How to use Gmail Package Tracking?
You can access package tracking updates directly from your inbox. Apart from that, you can enable and customize Gmail settings to get packet tracking update on iOS and Android phones on Gmail app.
After you activate the package tracker feature, Gmail automatically searches for order statuses using a tracking number. Shows orders in your inbox with their packing and delivery date details. You can disable package tracking at any time in your Gmail settings.
Also we all have bad feelings in case of order delay. Gmail also works to notify you of updates in case of any delays in the delivery of packages. This feature will also proactively show a delay notification and prevent possible disruptions when receiving a delayed package that you do not have on the due date.
Thanks to this feature of Gmail, you can spend more time for yourself on vacation. Let Gmail track packages for you and provide you with the most up-to-date notifications about your package’s delivery.
How does Gmail package tracking feature work?
Google offers this feature in Gmail as simply as possible. When you open your inbox and see an email with a tracking number, you can view the current delivery status of your package in your inbox list view. For more detailed information, you can click on the e-mail. You may also receive a notification card on the top line of this email with a summary of your package and delivery status.
Gmail will send you updates about the package you ordered. A simple activation will be sufficient to use this feature.
Gmail scans your emails with tracking numbers and automatically inquires about your package’s order and delivery status. It then pins the updates so you can view them at the top of your inbox so you can more easily track the delivery status of your packages.
The package tracking feature came to Gmail in the past few weeks. But Google is also working on a feature that can proactively search for delay notifications and pin delay email to the top of your inbox as well. This feature will be in Gmail soon. We eagerly await!
